Circulation economy

Our manufacturing process is designed to comply with the circulation economy as we are able to utilize all the raw material wood from the forest, from the bark to the dust from the planing mill. Part of the wood chips coming as a by-product from the saw mill are processed into garden coverings in our own production, or used for pulp production. Sawdust, wood bark, wood chips and dust are utilized in district heating production.

District heating

Kuusisto Group produces district heating to the residents and real estate of Laitila. The district heat produced is made entirely by burning by-products from other production plants, such as sawdust and bark. The production of district heating with biofuels covers currently more than 90% of the district heating demand of Laitila. That means that more than a hundred tankers of fuel oil is saved every year due to the district heat production.
